In 2025 our family took one of my bucket list cruises. We did a 7 night sailing out of Seattle to Alaska. It was the trip of a lifetime. From the plane ride, to the Public Market, to the sites and sounds of Alaska our family spent over a week being mesmerized by things we had only seen on TV and in pictures. Nothing we had seen had come close to doing justice to what we saw and heard. The sounds of Seattle, people hustling and bustling with activity in the Public Market as salmon flew the air The scenery of Alaska, painting in colors and textures we had never imagined. The wildlife, active and alive in displays of magnitude and majesty. I could not imagine having seen and experienced all we did without having my kiddos with me. To see the look on their faces as we saw waterfalls, eagles, otters, and whales, and to be able to experience those things with them, was absolutely priceless. I couldn't tell you how many souvenirs we brought home from that trip, but the ones that mean the most are the memories of walking through Sitka and learning more about the history and culture, taking train rides and eating a doughboy in Skagway, and whale watching in in Juneau. These are memories that will last a lifetime. Long after the hats are dingy and dirty, the toys are all but forgotten, and the pens have run out of ink, these memories will remain forever etched into the fabric of our family.
